Stop using carpark, roadside and fuel station car cleaners. They're overpriced and maybe even de-valuing your vehicle!
Think about it, how many times do they re-use that cloth which has no doubt been in and out of the same bucket of cold water gathering dirt and grime from the previous vehicles and transferring it to yours.
Similar to those scratchy brushes and rollers at the mechanical car wash. How often does the constant build up of detergent get washed off? No wonder they're full of suds that often miss your windscreen, wheels and mirrors.
The point is, just like any cleaning job, keeping a vehicle in tip-top shape requires discipline, persistence, and a positive mindset, because it’s a never-ending uphill battle. Washing the vehicle is not only good for aesthetics, it’s great for the vehicle’s health, as well. With a variety of external forces constantly attacking your ride’s windows, body paneling, and wheels, it’s up to you to take care of your investment and valuable asset.
So as a general rule of thumb, it’s important to wash your car frequently at a minimum of once a month. Additionally, irregular seasonal dirt such as gritting sand or salt, Road traffic film (which is the build-up of road dirt, diesel smoke, and other foreign contaminants that a vehicle picks up as it drives), and bug guts require immediate attention to prevent paint or metal damage.
